Spring Break 2011

WARNING: One of my longest posts in a while.  READ AT YOUR OWN RISK.

What a fun week this has been.  The week started off better than I ever could have imagined...KID FREE!!!  My parents watched Trey and Paige (and Tucker) Saturday through lunch time on Monday and boy oh boy, Dominique and I enjoyed every quiet, peaceful, easy going minute.  We spent some nice calm, snap free time together which included shopping, fine dining, D's hockey game, car browsing (someday I will be a sporty Volvo S60 T5 Mom, not a swagger wagon Mom) and chilling out at home.  As for how the kids did, you will have to ask Grandma and Grandpa to write a blog about that.  Let's just say there was fun, spoiling and maybe some struggles (can we say stay in your bed at bedtime?!?) that went on.

On Monday, it was piano lessons in the afternoon as usual for Trey.

One notable moment - Trey's first top front tooth came out (after he spent hours wiggling and pulling on it during the night).  I think the second top front tooth will come out any day now.

On Tuesday, we headed to Toys R Us to use gift cards from Christmas from Grandpa and Grandma Vogele.  Trey and Paige have been asking me "When can we go to Toys R Us??" every day since Christmas so I was glad to finally end that line of questioning.  It really gave them something to look forward to!  Here they are playing with some Moon Dough, one thing that they purchased, and making tiny dogs out of it.

On Wednesday, we headed to the Gtown library for a Tea Party.  We met our friends and the kids loved munching on the cheese sandwiches, cookies and cupcakes and testing out the various drinks.  They watched some little girls dance ballet and heard some little girls used to performing on stage sing their hearts out.  The boys were in it just for the food of course.

On Thursday, we headed to the bowling alley, one of their favorite past times.  It was so crowded as everyone seemed to be taking advantage of the St. Patrick day specials.

We also hit Trey's elementary school playground.  It was such a beautiful day!

A hamster wheel for kids - GENIUS!!

On Friday, we returned to the library for song, dance and silliness from Staci Gray.  The kids loved it!

In the afternoon, we headed to see the Disney movie "Tangled" at the discount theater with Grandma.  BUT, it was sold out.  You can only imagine how that went over.

So instead we went to a yogurt shop and then walked around the shopping strip.

Phew, that was fun!  I think we will take it easy for the weekend.  We need to recoup before heading back to school on Monday!

Happy Spring!
