Today Trey and Paige dumped out their piggy banks to see how much money they have collected. I have to say, I was pretty impressed with the loot they have saved. It was a great counting lesson for Paige since she helped sort the different coins and then put them in piles of 10 for pennies, nickels and dimes and stacks of 4 for quarters. It was great for Trey too as he was able to sort, stack and count to see how much money he had. The plan is to go to the bank and then we are going to divide up their shares into charity, savings and of course - spending it on something fun! While the kids were busy, I dumped out Dominique's "piggy bank" (an empty milk gallon) and whoooo hooo that was fun! Time for date night maybe? Or new shoes? Or saving it for babysitting $? Or (okay, you get the point!) maybe I should give it back to him....nah!
