Power of the Dark Side

Paige participated in dancing with girls from her dance studio once again as part of the Austin Spurs basketball half-time show.  This year was a Star Wars themed dance to "Power of the Dark Side".  This song has been stuck in my head ALL night!  All the girls did well and looked serious with their Queen Amidala makeup.  Not as many pictures to share, but of course I took video.  Check out the link (she is third from the right when they are all lined up at the beginning and then right side "fighting" her friend Madison):

Jazzercise Dallas Live 2015!!

I LOVE Jazzercise.  My awesome friend, Sam, owns the Jazzercise Center here in Georgetown.  Thinking of Paige, she passed on an email from corporate looking for Junior Jazzercise dancers (ages 8-12) to perform at the live taping in Dallas.  Paige learned the required audition routine with Sam's help.  We taped it and emailed it in.  And then got the news a couple of weeks later that she made it!  So next, Paige learned the required new routine to the song "Gotta Be Me" from the upcoming new Disney Teen Beach 2 Movie.  And off to Dallas we went!  We got to the Dallas Hilton Anatole (which was beautiful, amazing, overwhelming) and saw so many people and met a few from all over the country who were there to participate in this amazing event.  Paige practiced with the other kids (she was one of eight!!!!) on Thursday and then again, early Saturday morning before performing in front of 1,800 'Jazzercisers'!!  Below are some pics and of course, a video - the video was from the rehearsal right before the live taping/opening.  I really wanted to experience the real thing and not worry about filming her so I was lucky to tape the rehearsal.  She had no fear and LOVED performing in front of ALL THOSE CRAZY, ENERGETIC, AWESOME PEOPLE!!

Oh and we had fun on her "day off" (Friday) by having lunch with my college roomie and sweet friend, Katie and seeing our good friends, the Amburns, who live north of Dallas.  Good times!

Superheroes

Paige had the opportunity to dance to "Superheroes" by The Script at Military Appreciation Night at the Austin Spurs (lower division of the San Antonio Spurs) basketball half-time with her dance studio.  There were 22 girls and Paige was the smallest and youngest (7), but boy can she hold her own!  She is center court (on the line actually) and up front with the older girls.  She even had a flying split in the air! My heart was so full last night watching her.  It was so exciting and she just amazes me.  No nerves, just happy to dance.  What a memorable night!

Here is a youtube link to the dance:

Red Poppy Festival 2014

Paige's dance class danced at the Georgetown Red Poppy Festival.  She did an awesome job and looked so graceful.  Here are some pics and also a link to the YouTube video of the dance.  You will see this number again as she dances in the big recital in 2 weeks!

Paige's 2013 Recital

And our third year of dance has flown by.  Paige, once again, kicks booty.  This girl knows her stuff and has that spunk.  See for yourself!!  (FYI - If you can't pick her out, she is the center in the line of 11 girls for both dances.)

And following in the history of our family, I screwed up the video taping of her tap dance at the actual recital so I am posting her recital rehearsal dances.  This explains the lack of clapping at the end of the dances as there were only moms present, not a full audience. ;.)

Woohoo Paige and all her little dance friends!

Christmas Stroll 2012

Paige performed once again at the Georgetown Christmas Stroll last Saturday.  As always, she did an excellent job (and only had 3 practices, yes, that is right, only 3) and I am so proud of her.  It was a crazy 80 degrees that day and VERY sunny.  Who knew we would need sunscreen on December 1st!

Waiting to perform.

Waiting some more with some friends / fellow dancers.

Up on stage for the Finale.

Weeeeeeee!  See her on the left?

Princess Camp 2012

Paige's dance school has a Princess Camp each summer where the girls get to dress however they wish, learn a dance with princesses, do fun arts and crafts, have yummy snacks and give Mommy 2 hours to herself.  (Did I just write that? And in actuality, I had Trey so I wasn't by myself).

Here is one dance out of many (I was actually surprised how many they learned in a 4 day 2 hour camp!)
